THE COST OF GETTING IT WRONG

One missed deadline can cost more than a year of fees

The FTA applies fixed penalties whether or not you owe any tax. These are the ones we see most.

AED 10,000

Fixed penalty for late Corporate Tax registration, even with zero profit.

AED 500

Per month a Corporate Tax return is late, for the first 12 months. AED 1,000 a month after that.

AED 1,000

Late VAT return the first time. AED 2,000 for repeats within 24 months.

28 days

VAT return and payment are due 28 days after the tax period ends.

When is your Corporate Tax return due?

Pick the month your financial year ends. Most UAE companies use December.

Most recent completed year-end: December 31, 2025

Corporate Tax return due date: September 30, 2026

Overdue by 8 days
Estimated penalty: AED 1,000

AED 500 per month (or part) for 12 months, then AED 1,000 a month. Late-payment interest and the AED 10,000 late-registration penalty are extra.

Returns are due 9 months after year-end. Shows your most recent completed year.

Estimate only. Your FTA record decides the final amount.
